We went over and picked up Rory and Lola. They will be spending the weekend with us. Before we went we loaded everything into the fridge. It had cooled down nicely. We had put an ice cube tray in the freezer last night and I had ice today. I am driving my car behind the rv instead of towing. We haven’t tested 5e tow hookup yet so thought this would be best. The drive was about an hour. We got to the campground in the early afternoon and got set up. We got all Rory’s stuff put away and then I took him to the pool. I let him play for awhile before heading back to the rig. We had hotdogs, tater tots and watermelon for dinner.
Friday, June 26
We got up and joined the group for donuts for breakfast. Well, we also ate at the rig but only a bit. One donut each with the group. I had told Rory I would take him to the lake after lunch but it started raining so we spent the afternoon playing games in the rig. We played Jenna, dominoes, he drew and we had a good time. He did go down to the playground during breaks and rode on his scooter. The group provided hamburgers but we didn’t eat with them. Bill went over and got ours and brought them back to the rig. We ate in and had pasta and potato salads with the hamburgers.
We drove over to the next town to visit the Kitchenaid Experience. I heard this store would be closing in July and I hoped they would be having sales. But that was not to be. We did walk around town and bought Rory a toy and an ice cream.
Lola has been getting plenty of walks this weekend. She will be really tired when she goes home.
Rory likes his new bed. He says it is really comfortable. When he goes to bed we go into the bedroom so we don’t disturb him. He did get a shower today. The way the shower head is aimed it goes over his head so we have to try and aim it down.

We headed over to Walmart to pick up something to take for dessert to the potluck. We decided on chocolate cake. Actually, Rory decided. When we pulled into the parking lot and the skies opened up. We sat in the car for awhile waiting for the rain to let up. It wasn’t so we decided to make a run for it. We all got soaked! I bought Rory a new shirt and put it on home right away as he was cold from the air conditioner in the store. We were going to get wood but with all the rain this weekend we decided it wasn’t worth it. Around 4:00 we went down to the lake to let Rory play on a water park they had. They limit the number of people on at a time and we were the last to get signed in. Here it is.
He had a great time and was exhausted when he came out. After he took a shower and got dressed we went to the potluck. They were serving fried chicken and assorted side dishes. Rory ate 2 chicken legs and had some cake, of course. After he ate he went to the park. We could see him from the lounge building. At one point he fell off the swing and got covered with mud. I wiped him off with wipes and sent him right back out. We tease Aimee about all the clothes she sends with him but this time he needed all of them. He got another shower when we went in. I don’t know about Rory but I am going to sleep good tonight. I am exhausted.
Sunday, June 28
We got up, had breakfast and got ready to leave. Lola didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. She had to be physically removed from it. We heard rain was coming so we were packed up and leaving by a little after 10:00. Bill said the rig drove really well. We got home and got everything unloaded, which didn’t take long. Around 12:30 we took the monsters home. We spent a little time visiting with Nick and Aimee before heading to the car wash. My car was covered with bird poop that I needed to get off. Once that was done we headed home where we both took naps. It is going to take a couple of days to recuperate. We had a simple dinner. Afterwards Bill went out and hooked up the towing stuff. I drove the Suzuki around and we checked the hookup out. Everything worked fine and we will tow the car tomorrow when we take the rig back to the dealer so they can fix a couple of things. Then we went to bed.
