Today we had to take the rv back to the dealership. It is a 96 mile drive, one way. We did hook up the Suzuki to tow last night so after breakfast we took off. It was a little over 1 1/2 hours. The drive was pretty smooth. Once we got there we turned in the rig and talked to our sales guy a bit. I also picked up a couple of little things in the store using the remainder of the gift card they gave me. On our trip home we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for linnet. So that took up most of our day. We did stop at the storage area to pick up the Chevy. We moved the blocks around in anticipation of parking the rig there. Once we got home I took a nap, still recovering from the weekend. I contacted the place where we bought our front door to make sure they were coming on Tuesday to install it. They will be here in the morning.

So bright and early the door guys showed up and got to work. They were here for about 3 hours. Of course the door frame wasn’t square so it took a bit to get it installed but it is done now. I really like the door but when I walk past it my mind thinks the front door is open as I can see out through part of it. That will take some getting used to. We also have a storm/screen door on the front so I can open the door on nice days and let the air in. Here are some pics.
I put some beef ribs in the crockpot this morning so that is what we had for dinner along with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. For dessert I took some brownies I had in in the freezer out to defrost. They are leftover from Fathers Day.
We did run down to Lowe’s as their website said they had a doorbell in stock but when we got there it wasn’t so we stopped at Menards in the way home and got one. The one that was on the door before was a faded white one and we wanted one to match the door hardware. I also realized that I didn’t get the hardware on the garage door changed to match the other doors so now I have to call a locksmith to rekey that door. I left a message for a local one so I will see if they call back by tomorrow. If not I will move on to another company.
I watched the Mr Rogers movie that I recorded awhile back. It was pretty good but not what I expected. Durning the day I rearranged the cabinets in my island to put in a shelving unit left over from the rig. That will keep some stuff organized. We also went through some of the sheets and things that were leftover and decided what to do with them.
Wednesday, July 1
This morning. We decided to go out to breakfast. We also needed to go to the BMV to get the rig registered. We got the title paperwork the other day and now need to finish the paperwork. Around here the dealers don’t do that sort of thing like they do in Calif. after that we are going to take a drive to Camping World to get a couple of things. The trip to CW was a bust. Their website said they had things in stock but nothing we wanted was there. Bummer. So we turned around and headed home. After stopping for gas we got home.
I never heard from the locksmith so I called a different one. They are coming out tomorrow morning to rekey our garage entry door. Now it will only take one key to get in our house from any door.
Dinner tonight is going to be ham steak. We weren’t real hungry so I didn’t make much to go with it, just a salad and beans.
Thursday, July 2
We planned on going to a really nice steak house for dinner but when I called last night for reservations they didn’t have anything available until 7:00 PM. I thought about going to a different one but found out it has just closed again. Oh well. We have been trying to go since my birthday but nothing has worked out yet. So for dinner we had lasagne.
The locksmith called and came early today so that got done. We didn’t do much the rest of the day. I did make a grocery list for tomorrow and we did go walking. It is getting hot now. Some days are really muggy and others are ok. This means we keep looking at our garden, which needs weeding and saying, tomorrow.
Our next camping trip is coming up in a couple of weeks but I am not sure we are going to go. The way things have been going with the virus I am not sure I want to go out with others. I am keeping an eye on things.
We did make a run to a vegetable/fruit stand and got some stuff. The last things we got here were pretty good so we went back.
