Friday- Tuesday , July 3-7

Friday, July 3

Happy Birthday Bill!  🎤We don’t have much planned for today, just a trip to the grocery store and gas station. I need to pick up some things for our BBQ tomorrow. It is starting to warm up quite a bit and most of the next week will be in the 90’s. Some days will be muggier than others.  We also did a little house cleaning.  For dinner I made spaghetti with garlic rolls.

Bill heard from Nick and our friend Terry who both wished him a happy birthday.

I watched the movie Hamilton on Disney+. I enjoyed it but had trouble understanding some of the words.

We did get both of our walks in today.

Saturday, July 4th

Happy 4th of July!  The kids are coming over later today for a BBQ of hot dogs and hamburgers and staying for fireworks. We will walk up to the field to watch them. We did the last bit of cleaning and then watched tv for the day. We did get up and put on some clothes early this morning to take our walk. It is going to be hot today and we wanted to get out early. Once we got home we ate breakfast, showered and got dressed for the day.

The kids came over and we had a nice meal and visit.  Nick grilled the hamburgers and hot dogs. We also had macaroni salad, watermelon, cantaloupe, a strawberry jello salad, chips and ice cream cake for dessert.  It did cool off in the evening when clouds rolled in. I was surprised at the number of people who came to the neighborhood to watch the fireworks at the high school. This confirmed that we will ave traffics problems when they develop the lot. We took chairs and climbed the dirt pile to watch them. Rory was very excited about going. He still wears me out with all his energy. They brought Lola with them and the fireworks didn’t bother her at all.  Because they were here we didn’t get our evening walk in.

In addition to the city fireworks at the high school one of the neighborhoods had a pretty impressive display that we could easily see. I think some people thought those were the city fireworks. At least most all of them stopped about the same time so we weren’t kept awake all night.

Stormy did call and apologize for missing Bill’s birthday. It was good to talk to her.

Sunday, July 5.

Once again we got up and went for our walk early before coming home and having breakfast. It is suppose to be in the mid 90’s today. We will probably do this all week.

Bill and I have been talking and we have decided to cancel going to our camping groups camps out this month. It is 3 hours away in Indiana and with the increases in virus cases we don’t want to hang out with a lot of people. We are going to take Rory camping but as long as we are just by ourselves we will fell safer. It is probably all in our heads but that is what we plan. FMCA is requiring everyone to sign a liability release in order to attend rally’s with the group. We are squarely in the group they recommend not attend rally’s.
We waited until about 8:00 to do our evening walk. It had cooled off enough by then.  Bill worked I the garden but I didn’t due to the heat. He cut back some bushes and dug up the root. I played games on my computer.

Monday, July 6

I got a text on Saturday morning that our rig was done but we can’t pic, it up until today so that is our plan for the day. We did get up early and go for our walk. I was a bit stiff today so that made it harder.

Once we got dressed and had breakfast we headed to the dealership. Of course everything was messed up. Our sales guy has the week off and didn’t tell anyone we were coming so nobody knew what was going on. Service had to talk to sales who had to talk to finance but after almost 2 hours everything got straightened out. We tested the jacks and they worked fine. So we hooked up the car and headed home. We missed the rain that was in the area on our way home and it didn’t reach our house either. We had purchased a foam topper for the bed that we had to trim down to fit. That will make the bed much more comfortable. We used a bread knife to trim it. We took the rig over to the storage facility and got it parked. We decided it was best to back it into the spot instead of head in. We forgot to bring the tire covers so we will be back tomorrow.

We had dinner after we got home from the dealership so later tonight we will just have fruit and stuff.  I made spaghetti the other day and made a big batch so we had that for dinner.

It is hot and muggy today and will continue this way for a few more days.

Tuesday, July 7

Up and at em early to get the morning walk in. I had an appointment to get a mammogram this morning so I went after showering and having breakfast. At least that is over for another year. When I got home we headed to the storage area to put the tire covers on. We forgot them yesterday. We also talked to the people ther and plan on moving the boat into the spot next to us whenever they get it open. We headed over to Costco to get a couple of things and saw that gas was only $1.88 while it is $2.25 everywhere else.  We were in the Ford which has a full tank So we went home and got the Suzuki, which needed gas, and came back to fill up. Hey, $.37 a gallon difference is a lot. We also got my car washed on the way home. After that we just spent the day avoiding the heat. We didn’t take our evening walk until 8:00 but it was still warm and muggy. It is raining somewhere around us. It we haven’t seen any of it.  Since we have heat and no rain we put the sprinklers out to water the plants and grass.

Dinner was hamburgers. Eating in this heat just doesn’t sound good.
