Wednesday-Sunday July 22-26

Wednesday

I put a pork roast in the crockpot in the morni and we had a very nice meal for dinner. We did drive over to Jungle Jim’s to get a couple of things. They are still out of the primary item I buy there but I did get all the fruit and veggies I needed. I also picked up a couple of bottles of wine. We got our walks in today. On our drive over to Jungle Jim’s we ran into some traffic. Made me remember why we left California.  It also started raining pretty hard. We thought about turning around and going home but decided to push on. When we got to the store it had let up. We really need the rain so we can’t complain. The grass would like a few more days of rain.

Thursday

Bill had an appointment to have an echocardiogram this morning. Since they still don’t want visitors I stayed home. At noon we went to a Spectrum office to ask some questions about cable. I am still not sure what we are going to do. Nick stopped by for a bit and we talked about streaming tv. For dinner we had steak, baked potatoes and corn on the cob. Watermelon was our dessert. The state is now under mandatory mask use. I decided to make a couple more so we stopped by Joanns to get some things. Next week will be sewing week.  We also got the shade material I bought so I could make shade screens for the motor home. The ones we had for the other rig don’t fit this one.

Friday

We were suppose to take Rory to the splash pad/park today but he is grounded so we washed my car and went home. I decided to start sewing the shade screens. I need two for the front windshield and one each for the drivers and passengers windows. They help keep the inside of the rig cooler when we are parked. I go the two side windows and most of one of the windshield screens done when my sewing machine decided to die. I finally finished the one windshield screen but not the other. I spent some time trying to decide if I should get it repaired for get a new one. I decided to do both. I bought a heavy duty machine and will get this one repaired. They will both take about 10 days to get here so my sewing will have to wait. I want to make more masks, too.

We had BBQ pulled pork sandwiches for dinner. I used the leftover pork roast to make them. We also had baked French fries and applesauce.

Saturday.

We took the sewing machine to a repair shop and then stopped by our rig. I wanted to size the windshield screens I did finish. I do have to sew on some Velcro so they will stay shut all the time but they look good.

It is warming up again so we did our morning walk early. We will go later this evening.  We spent some time rearranging one of the drawers in the guest room and organizing my sewing supplies. I had been using a plastic box but not everything fits anymore.

I worked on my grocery list for tomorrow. We also tried to go to Dairy Queen to get dessert. It the line was too long again. Why does everyone want ice cream when I do?  For dinner we had pork chops, mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Sunday

Newspaper day. Also wash day. We got the laundry done.  We did go to the grocery store and got our stuff for the week. I now have enough points to get $.60 a gallon off the price. Score!  I made reservations for a couple of weeks from now to take Rory camping for the last time before school starts. I understand he will go to class two days a week and home school the other days. Not the best solution but it is what it is. We are signed up to go to the August camp out with the group but it will just be me and Bill. For dinner I cooked a turkey breast, stuffing and cranberry sauce. I like turkey year round.
