Monday
I had taken my camera with us when we went checking out covered bridges only I had problems with it. When we got home I checked it out and decided the problem was with the lens. I have a telephoto lens and it worked fine. I took the pictures posted in the last post with my phone. Anyway, we went to a local camera shop to see if they could help. The guys I talked to said they would have to sent it to Nikon and would be $100 at a minimum. They have a used lens at one of their other shops for $80 so they are having it sent to them. We will try it on my camera when it arrives. If it works I will buy that. I don’t use my camera much but I do want a working one. I checked prices on the internet and $80 is a good price. We think there is a problem with the lens communication with the camera body.
After the camera shop we decided to head over to Drug Mart and get flu shots. I also got the first shingles shot. We stopped for sandwiches at a local shop and went home. My arm was a bit sore but no other problems.
Tuesday
I woke up not feeling good. Turns out I had a reaction to the shots I had yesterday anyway, we didn’t do anything because of it
Wednesday
I woke up feeling much better, no fever. We got up and got ready for the day the plans are to go to Costco and the grocery store. That took up a couple of hours. I fixed fish for Bill and I had chicken for dinner. We ate early since we didn’t have lunch. By the time we got home from the stores it was too late.
Thursday
It rained last night and a couple of times in the morning. We did get our walk in but it was really, really muggy. I hate weather like that. We went to Grandma’s Garden, a local nursery and got some mums. They had them 5 for $40. They are pretty good size. I will take a couple of pics in a day or so when they bloom. We planted them out front. I don’t know if they will live but we are giving them a shot. I put meatballs in the crockpot with sauce to cook. We are having meatball sandwiches and tater tots for dinner. I just had the urge for them. Here are the mums before they fully bloom
Friday
I spent a chunk of the day babysitting Rory. Aimee had some chores to accomplish so I sat at the house while he was doing online school. After he finished school we watched some of his videos and talked. I will be going over most Fridays to help out as long as he is doing online school.
After being at their house I stopped. By Nick’s office and visited with him for a bit. Then I got my car washed and headed home. I fixed smoked pork chops and baked potatoes for dinner.
Saturday
We got up and got dressed. I had received a phone call from the camera place that the lens was in so we went by there first. Funny, this lens is doing the same thing as my lens. The guy put my telephoto lens on and saw that it worked fine. What bizarre trick is this? He has never seen a camera do that before. He suggested talking to Nikon and see if they could help so I will be calling them next week. Why would one type of lens work and a different type not work? After that we took the Chevy through the car wash and then headed to the storage lot. We spent quite a bit of time cleaning the boat and putting that new cover on. We hope to take it to the lake later this week. Hot, sweaty and stinky we went home. At least it wasn’t too hot today, just 82 degrees.
Sunday
Today is a do nothing day. We did have to do the laundry but that is about all. I did fix tacos for dinner. We watched dumb movies on tv.
