Tuesday-Tuesday, Nov 17-24

Tuesday. We stayed at home today as I had a package being delivered that I needed to be home for. My computer is scheduled for today. When we went for our walks I put a note authorizing them to leave the package on the porch.  You,know that because we stayed home the package didn’t arrive until around 5:30 PM!  At least it did show up.  I spent a little time working on it but I plan on spending most of tomorrow getting it fully set up. I made chicken noodle soup for dinner and had grilled cheese sandwiches with it.

Wednesday. I spent most of the morning and early evening working in the new computer. I got all my files copied over and a few programs downloaded. I couldn’t figure out how to move my favorites over so I worked on creating a new favorites list. I needed to clean it up anyway. We had to go to the credit union to cash in some savings bonds. It was interesting. You can only go I if you have an appointment and have to have a good reason for that. Otherwise you have to use the drive up teller.  On our way home we went by and picked up the rig from the service shop. It is now winterized and will be put to bed tomorrow. We put some last minute things into it tonight. Camping season is over. I had put a roast into the crockpot for dinner and it turned out really good.

Thursday.  We got up and went out for breakfast. I had a craving for blueberry waffles. On the way home we stopped to get fuel stabilizer to put in the rig, which we did when we got home.  After a bit we took the rig to storage, put the tire, rear view mirror and wiper covers on and locked it up for the winter. We will go over every so often and run the engine and the generator. The rest of the day was quiet. I decided to fix meatloaf for dinner. It turned out really good.  Today was a bit warmer, around 57 degrees, but the wind was blowing pretty hard.  The state is now on a curfew from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM.  Since we are generally asleep during those hours it won’t affect us. I am making a chocolate mousse pie for dessert on Thursday and I need chocolate wafers for the crust.  I usually buy them but the store was out so I found a recipe and mixed up the dough today.  It needs to refrigerate so I will bake them another day

Friday.  Another cool day. We did our morning walk and I went to babysit.  Bill came over later in the afternoon and we all went to Outback for dinner. The kids are starting to consider moving and we talked about the timing and everything.  They will look but will probably wait to move until the school year is out.

Saturday.  We tried to go to the grocery store today but when we drove by it was too crowded. We will wait and see what it is like tomorrow or Monday. We did stop at Ace Hardware.  I took Bill by the house the kids were interested in. It is in a neighborhood that really goes all out for Christmas.  Rory would like that. It was drizzling all day long so we mostly stayed in. I did make the dough for my chocolate wafer cookies I need for my chocolate mousse pie. The store didn’t have any the last time I was in so I found a recipe for them.

Sunday. I baked my chocolate wafers today. They turned out pretty good.  They didn’t have to look good as they are going to just be made into crumbs but they tasted fine.  This week I am going to make up a couple of dishes ahead of the big dinner and just warm them on Thursday. I tried to make yeast rolls last week and they turned out pretty good so I will be making them for Thanksgiving dinner too.  We drove by the grocery store but it looked too crowded.  We will go during the week instead. We did go into Michael’s .  I am going to make hot chocolate bombshell for Rory. Costco doesn’t have any and I am not going to pay the prices they have on the internet when I can easily make them. I just needed to get a mold for them.  Dinner tonight will be chicken and leftover side dishes. I need to empty the fridge so I have room for everything this week.

Monday.  Okay, today was the do or die day for grocery shopping.  The parking lot looked crowded but it wasn’t bad.  They even had toilet paper and paper towels!  I am now stocked up enough for the next six months.  After putting everything away I started on getting things ready for Thursday dinner.  I checked out what what was in the fridge to use up so I had room for stuff for Thanksgiving.

Tuesday.  Today I started fixing things for Thursday dinner.  I have a few things that can be ahead of time and cooked Thursday.  This included mashed potatoes, dressing, and homemade rolls.  Yes, for the first time I made yeast rolls.  I made a trial run last week and they weren’t too bad. This batch turned out fluffier.  I have a few more things to make tomorrow as well as do some cleaning. The kids are coming over for Thanksgiving dinner and I am making it. Aimee will do Christmas. I have to spread my cooking out as I get too sore to do it all in one day.
