On Wednesday morning we decided to go out to breakfast before leaving for camping. We went to a place we have only been once before called the Blueberry Cafe. It is about 15 miles from our house but the food was good. You get a lot of food, too. We decided that when we go back we will split a meal, there was that much food. Aruba 12:30 we took off to the campground. It was about 2 hours to drive. We were headed to the Follow The River RV park in Florence, IN. We started in Ohio, drove through part of Kentucky and wound up in Indiana. 3 states to go camping. The park is nice, we have concrete pads. They could use some more trees for shade in the summer. They have a pool, playground an bouncy pad for the kids. Of course they are closed now because the season is just about over. We still weren’t hungry at dinner time from our big breakfast so we just had cheese and crackers for dinner.
Thursday morning stared with breakfast in the rig. Everyone in the group was here today. Mainly we hung around and visited. Some people played cards or games. A couple of people fished in the pond. For dinner we originally planned on going to a close Italian restaurant but it is not open for dining in so we drove to Kentucky and had dinner at one there. It was a group of 15 of us. I had lasagna and it was good. We all sat around a fire in the evening. They weather has been nice with temps in the high 60’s. Bill and I drove over to a small local Amish grocery store. They didn’t have a lot but it was a way to spend some time.
Friday morning started with doughnuts and pastry in the clubhouse. Bill and I also went for a walk on the nature trail. We relaxed the rest of the day, reading, visiting and stuff. We are having heavy finger foods for dinner tonight. I made deviled eggs and have cream puffs too. Everything I made went over really well. I cheated and bought the already cooked and peeled eggs from Costco. That made fixing them easy.
Saturday was also doughnuts and pastries. There is talk of doing some full breakfasts next year. Bill and I visited a local winery but I wasn’t impressed so I didn’t buy any. They had a lot of sweet wines, which I don’t drink. We visited with folks before dinner. It was chili cook off night, not sure why they called it cook off as there was no vote. I made a chili which I really liked. Bill doesn’t particularly like chili so I also made navy beans. I had the ham bone left from last month, which I froze. I put everything into the crockpot and let it cook all day. Bill said they were really good and a bunch of people also ate them.
We have new officers next years and they have some interesting plans. They are planning a trip to Branson in Branson but I don’t think we are going to that. They are also planning Shipshewana, ID, an Amish town, and we plan on going there.
We got home Sunday with very few problems. There was one section of freeway where we slowed down but at least we kept moving. We emptied the rig in preparation of having it winterized this week. The camping season is over even though the weather is still nice. We are expecting cold weather to come back after this week. On my Camping Squares jacket the elastic on the sleeves has stretched out. I am going to shorten the sleeves and put new elastic in them. I have a couple of minor adjustments to make to the dash cover so that will get done this week and it will be installed before we put the rig in storage.
Our mower guy ran into our mailbox post and broke the arm with the box on it broke off. I found the info for the replacement and sent it to the. Owing company. They are suppose to fix it. As of today I haven’t heard from them about a time frame so I will be contacting them this week.
So that is it for this week. Have a good day.
