Me again

Wow time sure has passed quickly. I don’t know where June went.  Somewhere in there I had a birthday and Fathers Day too.  Actually, I spent those in the ER.  Don’t know exactly what happened but my right knee became very swollen and I couldn’t put weight on it. Bill had to get my walker out to help me get up and in the car.  I didn’t fall or anything so they were not able to figure it out.  The X-rays showed that the replacement parts were all fine.  I was able to get in on Monday to see the orthopedic doctors assistant. She gave me some pain pills and some steroids to bring the swelling down.  Luckily I still have the ice water machine so using that really helped.  It took about a week for the swelling to go down completely.  Still don’t know what happened.

The kids got moved into their new house.  That happened before my knee thing.  They are about 5 miles from us and in a nice neighborhood.  There are a lot of kids so Rory will have kids to play with and go to school with.  The neighborhood has a pool and clubhouse too.  I hope they will be happy there. They have some work to do, the basement isn’t finished and they want to do some remodeling but that will happen over time.  They have a nice yard and gardens.  My job in the move was to supply food and take care of Rory.  Until the basement is finished the 4th bedroom is his playroom.  We setup his stuff and organized his toys and stuff.  Aimee is lucky as the stove in the house is gas, not electric.  I am envious.  I hope they are happy there.  After the close Aimee spent a week cleaning.  We went over one day and helped with that.  They planned on moving on Saturday but the weather forecast was for rain so we moved it up to Friday.  A little scrambling and we got most everything moved.  It was hot and muggy but it is done.

We did attend two concerts the city out on.  The first was the 122nd Army band at a local park.  We enjoyed that.  The second was the new Springboro wind symphony at the high school.  That was good too.  We like to go to these types of performances.

July is going to be a busy month.  We have a full schedule with doctor appointments, camping and visiting the girls in NC.  Other exciting things are having the air conditioning serviced and the carpets cleaned.  We also have a show at the local dinner theater.  They are doing the little mermaid.

My bathroom is finally finished.  Yes, it took 12 weeks.  I am posting a review for them that states the facts, they have horrible project management.  I had planned on having them do my second bath but that won’t happen. I have also had some neighbors ask about them and I did not recommend them.  The kids might have used them too.  They lost a lot of business by being so bad.

The weather hasn’t been too bad, especially compared to the rest of the country.  We had some 90 degree days and some rain but nothing too bad.  The rain keeps us from having to water the grass and we just stay home in the heat.  We do go to the YMCA to exercise when it is too hot.

We took Rory to the Cincinnati Zoo on Friday  we haven’t been in a year  it was a bit crowded but we had fun  we saw a couple of shows and a lot of animals.  The weather was great and we had a good time.

Well, that is it for now.  Take care. I will try to post more, but no promises.
