Time flies

I had a mammogram earlier this year and my family doctor recommended that I have a gene test done. Breast cancer runs in the family.  It took a bit of time but my appointment was finally here. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to have it done or not but I went and talked to them.  I decided to go ahead and have the test done.  All it took was some blood.  I will find out the results in a few weeks.

Our groups first campout was this week. We didn’t go but are scheduled to go to the May and June campouts.

We had dinner with Nick and Aimee on Saturday night.  Rory was at a play date so it was just the adults.  We went to Bonefish Grill.  We have only been there once before for lunch.  Dinner was very good.  They were having a dinner for 2 special. It included a salad each, an entree each and a shared dessert, all for $45. And since our reservations were at 6:00 we hit the last bit of happy hour so our drinks were cheap.  The food was really, really good.  We will have to remember to go to this place more often.

We went to a local nursery and picked up a few more flowers to plant out front.  It was a really nice day when I bought them.  We planted them and wouldn’t you know it, the next day turned cold and we had a frost warning.  We bought two types of plants and one of them probably won’t survive the frost.  It turned brown and looks like it is dead.  We will give it a couple of days before we give in and get more.

We had the rig in the shop and the Suzuki in another.  The rig was being de-winterized and checked over for the season.  The Suzuki was waiting for a part to fix the air conditioner, the hose had a leak.  They were both ready at the same time.  The two shops are a block from each other so it required two trips to collect both of them.  We keep the Suzuki in top shape as it is our tow car for the rig.  I know it isn’t worth a lot anymore, it is almost 20 years old, but it works for what me need it for.  We plan to keep it as long as it keeps running or we can’t find parts anymore.  The air conditioner hose took a bit of time to locate so that time might be coming sooner than we want.

We are still doing our exercises at the Y three times a week.  We had started swimming after the class but they are having trouble getting life yards and the pool was closed this week during the time we normally swim.  Hopefully they will get some lifeguards soon and we can go back to swimming.  We have been to a couple of the local parks and walked their walking paths  a couple of times.  They are both about a mile in length.  It is different than just walking in the neighborhood.

One of the legs on the TV in the bedroom broke the other day  we tried to locate replacement feet but couldn’t find the right ones.  I looked online and even ordered a set but they didn’t work.  We decided to just get a universal stand instead.  It came and we put it together.  Everything worked out fine and it now stands on the dresser again.

  More in May
