July 17-23

Monday July 17 - we don’t have much planned today.  We did get both our walks in.  After the morning walk I took a pain pill as my bursitis is still acting up and that meant I took a long nap.  We planned to drop my car off at Toyota to have the one year maintenance done.  We got there around 4:30 and told the guy we were dropping it for service tomorrow.  He said he thought he could get it done today.  We decided to go to dinner in case he did.  We went to a place called Black Rock.  They bring you your meat raw and you get to cook it on a rock that is heated to 775 degrees!  Bill wasn’t sure about it but I enjoyed it.  He did like the clam chowder and the sweet potato mash.  Just as we were ordering Toyota called and said the car was done.  We asked for a quick dinner and the waiter was able to accommodate us.  Toyota service closed at 6:00 and we made it back with 5 minutes to spare!  So that is done for the next 6 months.  We had a severe thunderstorm in the evening.  Thunder, lightning and heavy rain.  At least I don’t have to water my grass this week.

Tuesday July 18 - we are headed back to our exercise class today.  I wonder if we lost our back row privileges?  We arrived at our regular time and our back row spots were still there.  After having time off getting back in the swing of things was difficult.  We had a quiet day for the rest of the day.  In the evening we planned on heading to the park for a concert.  It starts at 7:00.  At 6:00 it started racing so we waited until 6:30, when it stopped before heading to the park.  It was muggy but didn’t rain anymore and the snow went on.  It was songs of the ‘60’s and pretty good. Because of the rain we didn’t get our evening walk in.

Wednesday July 19 - exercise classes again this morning.  It was not as painful as yesterday.  On the way home we talked aboit where we were going for our breakfast on Friday.  It appears our favorite place, The Track, is closed because of the county fair.  They are not answering their phone so I can’t ask the.  We were planning on going there and then dropping our ballots for the special election off.  Since we think they are closed we decided to go ahead and drop them today.  As we drove past the fair we could see that the restaurant is absolutely closed.  That means we will have to pick somewhere else for Friday.  Back home we rested and I updated my gps as it needed it.  I fixed pasta for dinner then we went for our evening walk.  No rain today.

Thursday July 20 - I feel more in the swing of things at class now.  It took a couple of days for that to happen.  I think our instructor reads minds, I was telling Bill on our drive in that I hope we do more legs and core today as we did arms the last two days, and that is what we did!  After class I dropped Bill at home and headed to our vision center to order glasses.  I got both regular and sun glasses.  They should be here in about two weeks.  The afternoon was quiet.  We are suppose to have thunderstorms tonight but nothing so far.  We got our evening walk in and as we were walking three cop cars pulled into the neighborhood.  I guess they were looking for the animals again. We got both Springboro and Clearcreek township police.  Hey, some excitement.  It was hot and muggy all day today. I made grilled chicken for dinner.  I made mine into a dinner salad.  I also made corn on the cob to go with it.

Friday July 21 - we have reservations for dinner tonight at the golf course. They are having a fish fry.  We decided to go out to breakfast today.  It has been awhile since we went to the Blueberry Cafe in Bellbrook so off we went.  They have a call in waiting list and since it takes about 20 minutes to get there we did that.  When we got there we were seated immediately.  Their food is very good but they have large servings so we split a breakfast.  We had 2 eggs ( it seemed like there were four), hash browns, two sausage patties, and 4 pieces of French toast.  We still couldn’t eat it all.  Back home we rested a bit to let it settle then went on a walk.  My hip is really bothering me so I decided to call my orthopedist and see if I can get an appointment.  It knew it would take awhile but I got one on Sept 7.  It has cooled off a bit, probably because of the rain last night so the walks haven’t been as muggy.  We went to the fish fry at the golf course.  It was good.  They are having ribs in August and we might go to that.  We stopped by to get gas on our way home, not bad at $3.14 a gallon.  We will be heading to the park later for a concert.  Don’t know how long we will stay as it is the music of Segar, which we don’t know a lot about but it is a nice time.  We will do our evening walk there.

Saturday July 22 - we had a quiet morning with breakfast and our walk.  We met the kids for lunch around 1:00 at Olive Garden.  We spent about an hour and a half talking about the cruise and what has been going on.  After lunch we headed over to the motor home to install the heater bug guard we ordered.  The old one had fallen off and gotten squashed.  The spring they sent with the new one didn’t fit so we decided to use screws to hold it on instead.  A quick trip to Ace and we had the correct size screw.  Back at the rig we got it installed.  That sucker should never come off again.  We noticed the other bug screen we have looks like the springs on it might break soon so we will be looking at how to secure it on, probably wire.  No dinner tonight as we are still full from lunch.  We will do our nightly walk soon, then nothing else is planned.

Sunday July 23 - today will be a quiet day as we really don’t have anything planned other than laundry.  We did get our morning walk in but not our night time one as I didn’t feel like it.  Dinner was meatloaf and Mac and cheese.  Simple and filling.  After dinner we took a trip to DQ for dessert.  Like I said, quiet day.
