July 24-30

Monday July 24 - Happy Birthday to my sister Rose.  spent most of the day over at the kids house babysitting Rory.  Aimee had a lot of things she had to get done and he didn’t want to go with her.  I took him out to lunch at Wendy’s. I haven’t eaten at one of those in a long time.  Bill and I went out to dinner as I got back kinda late to fix dinner.  We went to Bob Evan’s.  I had soup and salad as I want very hungry. We did get both walks in for the day.

Tuesday July 25 - class this morning.  We went home afterward and waited until our doctor appointments in the afternoon.  We both had appointments with the dermatologist for a full body check.  No cancer but I had two spots she wanted to freeze.  That hurt!  We ate leftovers for dinner, you just picked whatever was in the fridge that you wanted.  We did get our evening walk in at the park as we went there to listen to music again.  Tomorrow the hot weather moves in so I am not sure how much outdoor walking we will do.

Wednesday July 26 - class again today. We came home afterward and just kinda hung around.  I made fish for dinner and then cleaned out the fridge since tomorrow is trash day.  We did go to the local golf club to listen to music.  The city puts on some pretty good concerts.  Tonight was country music.  We have heard the singer before and she is pretty good.  It started drizzling while we were there but it stopped pretty quickly.  It was hot and muggy but we did get some nice breezes so that helped.

Thursday July 27 - last day of class this week.  We got home about 12:30 and rested until time to go see our financial advisors at 2:30. We were there for about 1 1/2 hours.  They gave us some things to think about to help with taxes.  Our investments are doing fine.  They always serve us drinks and a snack.  They have this cronut, croissant/donut thing, that is really good.  I’ll have to find out where they get them.  On our way back home we stopped at my favorite jewelry store.  I wanted to check prices on a tennis bracelet.  I have some thinking to do on how much I want to spend on one,  we also drove through the car wash.  I had put food in the crockpot in the morning so I finished up dinner, it was beef and noodles.  We went for our evening walk but only did a mile.  It is extremely hot and muggy with bad air quality so that was enough.  Later at night it finally did rain, that might help with the mugginess tomorrow.  But it will still be hot.

Friday July 28 - today is our regular breakfast out day.   We are headed to the Track.  It has been over a month since we have been there.  Busy, busy day today.  After breakfast at The Track we headed to the post office.  I get notices about what I should get in the mail each day.  On Monday I got one that said a letter from the IRS was there. Well, it hasn’t come yet so we stopped in to check it out.  The lady said all I could do was wait.  Now I assume it is similar to the one I got earlier in the month that was a survey.  Well, Bill said it will probably be in the mail later today since I stopped to ask about it.  Anyway, our next stop was Costco.  I had a number of things to get.  Aimee also asked me to look out for some Pokémon cards packaged for Halloween.  I was surprised they had them so I picked up a box for her.  I got almost every I wanted, just missing one thing.  When we were in the store I thought I heard thunder, well, when we got to the exit it was pouring with thunder and lightning!  We hung around at the exit until it let up a bit then hightailed it to the car.  Ok, on to our last stop - the grocery store.  The store is west of Costco so it had already stopped raining there.  Groceries bought we headed home and put them away.  I then took a nap as the weather gave me a headache.  I don’t feel like cooking so we are going to either eat at the concert in the park or grab a sandwich on our way there.  It is the last concert in the park for the year.  When our mail finally arrived the letter from the IRS was there and it was exactly what I thought it was.

Saturday July 29 - it is really hot and muggy today but we still managed to get our two walks in.  Good thing we have good air conditioning.  We didn’t go anywhere with a car today.  We did spend a bit of time cleaning.  You know - dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc. We are going camping next week so I spent some time checking out thing to do in the area.  One was going to be a tour of the Toyota plant but you have to book those in advance and there isn’t anything available now.  They do have a visitor center we might visit.  Since it is in the heart of bluegrass racing we might visit a horse farm.  I also found a chocolate company tour and a cider place.  I’ll let you know what we wind up doing. I make a turkey breast for dinner along with cranberry sauce and stuffing.

Sunday July 30 - laundry day so that is what we spent the morning doing.  I work best with lists so I started a list of things to pack in the rv next week.  We did do both walks again even though it was still hot and muggy.  We took a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up last minute things for the trip.  Other than that we had a quiet day.  I fixed smoked pork chops, cottage cheese, and baked potatoes for dinner.
